Grace Murphy

Grace spends lots of time painting and drawing, however she also likes to make music, work in lino, and explores digital art making including video and animation.
Grace has studied art making practices briefly at both TAFE and university institutions, and is looking forward to developing these skills further and further in her residency at Onwards Studios.
I have always found that I feel most myself when in nature and I draw a lot from these experiences in my art making. I grew up on a farm when I spent a lot of my childhood outside and with animals. I have a particular fondness for horses and birds (as I’m sure you will see in my works) and I also love big open spaces and trees. I have always found that making things has brought me closer to understanding and deeply appreciating what is out there in the world and finding my own voice in and amongst it all. That is a bit of what is behind my works and I hope that you get something out of them too. Thank you for having a read about and look at what I do.
