SCOTT DUNCAN

Warrane, Gadigal land (Sydney NSW)

Scott Duncan grew up in Portland on the south-west coast of Victoria where the pathways offered for young men spanned football, farming or surfing. So he surfed and pursued study in visual arts. In 2017 he recommenced his art practice with a residency at Kil.n.it Experimental Ceramics Studios in Glebe, Sydney. It is here that he has connected with an audience interested in ambitious work in clay.

Duncan has been a feature artist at Sydney Contemporary (2022) and has had major solo exhibitions as well as various group exhibitions in both New South Wales and Victoria.

He is a twice finalist in STILL: The National Still Life Award (2019, 2017) and a finalist in the Fishers Ghost Art Award (2024). His work is part of the Artbank collection, and in 2022 Duncan completed a major commission for the opening of the ACE Hotel Sydney curated by Flack Studio. He is represented by Arthouse Gallery, Sydney.
